Joni Sussman, a child of Holocaust survivors, is active in Holocaust education in the Midwest. She is a past president of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas, where she continues to serve as Chair of Holocaust Education. She is a founder of CHAIM (Children of Holocaust Survivors Association in Minnesota). She was an interviewer of Holocaust survivors for the Steven Spielberg Shoah Foundation. Her father, Leo Kibort, was a survivor of Dachau Concentration Camp and a witness at the Nuremberg Trials. Her mother, Hinda Danziger Kibort, was a survivor of Stutthof Concentration Camp and active in the post-war Council for Liberated Jews.
